Wardsboro Public Library receives financial backing for staff salaries through taxpayer support. In order to purchase books, materials, supplies and programs, the library must raise funds through the Annual Fund and various fundraising events.  These events include the Variety Show in March,  Bake Sale on Memorial Day weekend, and July 4th Book Sale.

Year-round fundraising bridges the gap between taxpayer funding and the full cost of providing quality library services.

The property and building are owned and property costs are paid by a nonprofit group known as the Friends of the Wardsboro Library.

The Wardsboro Public Library's mission is to provide the best possible access to books and other library resources in a variety of formats and technologies for the enjoyment and enlightenment of its patrons. The library also encourages and facilitates cultural activities for the community, educates the community about the library’s resources, and upholds the public’s freedom of access to information.
