Special Film Screening: Lost Nation
Presented by the Wardsboro Public Library & Wardsboro Curtain Call
Join us for a special screening of Jay Craven’s historical drama Lost Nation on Sunday, September 28th at 2:00 PM at Wardsboro Town Hall.
Set during the Revolutionary War in the young Republic of Vermont, the film tells two intertwined stories.
The first follows Ethan Allen, famous for his defiance of Yorker land claims and daring military actions. Craven shows Allen not just as a legendary hero, but as a determined—and sometimes flawed—leader facing personal and political challenges.
The second story spotlights Lucy Terry Prince, author of Bars Fight, the first known work of African American literature. Alongside her husband Abijah Prince, a formerly enslaved man turned landowner, Lucy navigates Vermont’s legal and political systems to defend her family’s rights and homestead in Guilford.
