About the Event

The Wardsboro Library Memorial Day Plant Sale will look a little different this year.

Given the influx of invasive jumping worms in the area, we do not feel comfortable possibly contributing to their spread. This year, we will not accept donations of perennials planted in soil. Instead, we are inviting community members to bring cuttings of indoor or outdoor plants in water to exchange with their neighbors. Finally, a use for all those spider plant babies! Please label your contribution and bring a jar or vessel to bring home your new cuttings.

Visit us on the Library front lawn Saturday, May 25 10am-1pm to swap out some of your extra plant cuttings and visit our Book Sale and Bake Sale also on all day. Don’t forget to check out our Seed Library with flower and vegetable seeds donated by your neighbors (we’ll always accept well-labeled seed donations, too!)

In the afternoon, we will be hosting Alex Lacy, Outreach Coordinator at Windham Solid Waste Management District, for a talk on home composting, what the WSWMD composting program look like, and why compositing is a fantastic way to tackle our trash program.

Stay tuned for more information. See you there!
